antique auguste moreau bronze

    Hello to all. I am looking for any information on this piece. does it have a title? When was it made?
    its signed Aug Moreau and the base has a tag marked Eug. Bagues bronzier-paris
    It stands 30 1/8" tall. Thanks for any information.

    the round socle and the plaque look post-war. the Moreau clan normally cast their models themselves. Baguès was in trouble several times and it may well be that this is an edition of a good seller "after Moreau" or a copy that was still fashionable. in 1957 the creditors stopped to support Baguès and the family member that saved the company had to continue on a much smaller scale with his own money.
    is the socle wood ?
