Very warm colors and the style is almost like a bob ross. Is this made by someone well known? Or just just a hobby painting?
    Thanks, Jack

What I have learned in my travels with art and painting appraisals is this is described as decorator painting. They were mass produced for sale in department stores and boutiques, circa 1950 to 1970 for the most part. The quality and value can vary quite a bit. Depending on size, subject, and quality, they are usually worth $50 to $200.

I have seen some of the ships at sea, (schooner sailboats), go for the high end and there's one particular artist that escapes me, and people definitely collect his work.

A really great find would be one by the Italian artist, Antonio DeVity. His canvases are stamped on the back with his name (there are Chinese forgeries w/o the stamp). These are worth more than most of the decorator painters. I found a good DeVity cityscape for $20 at a thrift shop and resold it for $330.

Thank you for that information so much! I just did a little more digging and discovered the frame is an Anco Bilt canvas frame. There were also a couple of brush hairs stuck on the bottom of the painting. But I doubt this will help much. Thank you very much!
