    Anything potentially special
About this char. I’ve taken the seat off and can find no name, year, brand, anything. Thank you.

Steve I'm having a hard time seeing your chair. Can you go back and edit your post at the bottom and choose "Full Image" for your photos

Golden oak,1900 give or take . The "carving" is actually pressed into the wood. Mass produced but worlds better than anything from Ikea. :)

Johnny, think you are seeing this wrong. Pics are small and incomplete so easy to do. Looks like walnut circa 1890 to me. Eastlake/aesthetic movement.

Thank you all. I was trying to figure out where I can edit images and I can’t figure it out. Is this a $10 garage sale chair or worth hanging on to given its age?

Both. Brown furniture of all types is in a bad depression, price-wise. $10-$20 is all you might get for the chair. On the other hand, if you read Johnny's post above, he's speaking the truth about this chair being worlds better than Ikea.....or anything new. Keep it if you like it......I would.
