I came here mostly because my wife and I purchased what we believed to be a mid-century buffet a few years ago, and we finally got around to restoring it this year, and were looking for helping in identifying it. But overall, we love 20th century vintage American furniture, and we’ve recently been working on a budget-friendly MCM-style makeover to our living and dining room. Now that the kids are getting older, we’re starting to ease into our long-term decorating choices!

here’s a few pics I took of some pieces as we picked them up. Some are vintage. Some are newer. The sofa is new. I need to find a pic of the fireplace and chair as well. It’s all a work in progress. Little pieces here and there. Lots more we’d like to do. But it’s a start

All new members have a problem at first with posting photographs, Rick. Not a problem. We understand. We're patient.

ok trying again. I wish I had taken some more before photos for comparison...but I have a few of the ugly carpet lol and our neighbor’s couch that we had for a while as we saved up for new...

This house is a cape cod built in 1942

B262FA38-189D-4608-8A27-C35029761B31.jpeg New sofa. This style is called “Digby.” It is from Flexsteel. My wife has wanted a “groovy” couch for 20 years. This was actually the inspiration for the whole remodel

A77E6418-9903-4FFB-8679-A7B07C13036E.jpeg We chose this fabric for the chair. It reminds of of her grandmother’s house, which was built in 1962 and remained almost completely original till the day she died in 2008.

Sounds like you're having a lot of fun. But, Rick... You'll want to go back and repost your photographs as Full Image. They'll then appear like this, imbeded in your post. So much easier for all to see.

990E04D2-D6D9-4CBA-9F33-AEF75F39D641.jpeg Dining table and chairs. The center piece is no longer there. There is a vintage green glass piece there now. But that centerpiece came from an estate sale in NJ and we found it on Etsy for $15.
