Japanese makers mark

    Hi Chris....my Japan Marks book says that the the company is unknown

    You're welcome Chris.....someone else might have a different book and have the WHO answer!:cat:

    I've certainly come across this mark many times, but for some reason when I see most Japanese marks, the WHO doesn't seem to matter very much to me....... for the most part anyways.

    Always exceptions of course.

    Try searching cottage ware Japan on "the bay". You may find a piece with the mark id'd.

    I think about all you can say is 1950s, soon after the occupation, since a lot of these are marked Occupied Japan. The importer doesn't matter.

    Sadly, the mark does not say that the item is worth much ... in my experience, anyway
