Chicken-like metal mouse (?) figure with lid ...what is this?

    Not even sure what to call this creature.

    Hoping for keywords so I can decide whether to list or consign.

    Guessing it is a 1970's or later piece, maybe Thai? Chinese? It is very, very heavy -- 7 1/2" tall, almost 4 pounds. Copy of an old mold? Kind of crudely done, but there is a fair amount of metal in the thing.

    All thoughts appreciated. Thanks!
