This China cup or bowl is hand painted and the bottom is embossed USA, no other markings. Wondering if anyone recognizes the maker or pattern or what it was used for. It is 6 1/4" from handle to handle and stands 3 1/4" tall. Thanks in advance!

    I think you'll find that's a decal rather than hand-painting.

    Agree with Debora.
If you take a magnifying glass and look at the flowers, you will see dots indicating a decal.
The gold stripe on the handle was probably hand applied.

I've seen the pattern before, but don't know who makes it. Maybe @janetpjohn knows.
    My guess is 1930s/40s.

It's a Mt. Clemens Mildred sugar bowl, missing a lid.

Mt. Clemens was bought by Kresge dime stores in 1920, and this was sold in their stores. I think it's the most popular Mt. Clemens pattern, made until 1930, according to the Robbinsnest site.
