Ok, my temporary conclusion is this:

There are multiple reference images, possibly flower nymphs based on a single photograph of a 1920s “scarf dancer”. They’ve been used in numerous different ways. My tile depicts water lilies. Royal Dux produced a vase with daisies. It is different in numerous ways, but if you flip the original image and put it along the tile you see similarities, particularly in the end of the scarf.

So Royal Dux probably has the answer. Find the designer/artist/model behind the vase and I’ll be as close as I can be; one day I’ll chase this up in a catalogue or something.

Thanks guys, for all your help— I wouldn’t have looked at Czech designers if I hadn’t come here!

Love finding bargains on eBay. I wrote a novel about it. It’s doing quite well.
