    Sorry, but I have to laugh....at MYSELF!!!! NICE pot!!! We have about 15 wild Lady-slippers growing in our semi-wild front yard and I thought it looked familiar on your pot, yet did not recognize it as such.....UNTIL I saw them in color with Marie's link!!!!!

    Lady slippers are an orchid - specifically a Cypripedium. Chinese paphiopedilums have that wrinkly pouch though they have shorter petals. Same subfamily, so I suppose it doesn't make a difference.

    Does not look like an Asian language character, even though it "came with" the Yixing teapot. IMHO more likely a "studio pottery monogram."
