    Ah... And have you ever heard what Anthony Bourdain has to say about garlic presses?

    Misuse of garlic is a crime. …garlic that has been tragically smashed through one of those abominations, the garlic press … disgusting. Please treat your garlic with respect. Smash it, with the flat of your knife blade if you like, but don’t put it through a press. I don’t know what that junk is that squeezes out the end of those things, but it ain’t garlic.

    I'm a garlic "smasher" myself, and I've never used a garlic press, but I only listen to Anthony Bourdain when I agree with him!

    more likely a primitive citrus press, I think; can't see these being very useful for garlic. I'm a garlic smasher using the side blade of a knife; if I want it fine I use a microplane...
