Sword

Hello. Would you be able to help me in identifying this sword? It has an eagle on a handle and nine stars. What would be the value of it? Thank you in advance

 

that guy's in pretty rough shape.........value will be low...
are there any marks on the blade where it meets the handle..??

 

There is nothing. Only two dots. From what time period is it?

 

it looks like it wants to be a model 1872 light cavalry sabre ....
but the basket is strange and the pommel is,....ummm....can't see it well..and i can't see the blade...

 

that's not a good sign...as the blade is the most important feature, and if it was a Gov't authorized killing weapon...or even a dress blade......you should find some marks on it..

 

count the stars again....i think there should be at least 13......or i have the wrong period handle..

 

Did you say, "sabre" komo? My ears were ringing.

 

with a handle like that....I thought you'd helpin me with edged weapons !!!

Yours is starting to look like it was dug out of the ground at a battle field....

& that's the only way it's value could increase , if U had some document proving that.
