Thoughts on oriental rug?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I picked this up at a used market. It is a good sized carpet, 11'6" by 8'4".
    It looked handmade to me with no major damage and not terribly worn, maybe some of the fringe and a very small tear that was repaired.

    Any thoughts on style, age, origin, etc?

    Looking at word Meravan then Iran comes up. It’s a lovely rug, looks likely made from wool too but wait for other opinions.

    Nice rug. Could have been made elsewhere but it looks to have been done in the style of a Sarouk Ferahan.
