Hello and welcome to the board.

    Could be a plant stand.
Size of the top might help.

    Appears to be late 1800s.
In today's world, small tables are very popular. So yes you should be able to get a decent price.
Will depend on where you are and how you intend to sell.

Oh by the way, that paper on the bottom says Eisenbahn Direktionsbezirk Sangerhausen. It was transported via train, probably to Sangerhausen which is a small town in Germany.

Quite interesting sculptural quality. Imagine someone would be happy to give it houseroom.

it has nothing to do with it being transported. it's a "property of" sticker of the railway company that had a sub-direction in Sangerhausen ; could be from anywhere in that district; probably the Werra railroad or the Thüringer Eisenbahn.

Thanks for replying to my post, some good information you have given me.
I am glad you could read the label underneath because I could not see all of it.
Another evaluation website (Mr Expert) wrote to me and said ``your piece is primarily sentimental, value (between 150 and 300 euros)
So I do not know what to think, I guess anything better than the 7 euros I paid for it is a win win for me.

I live in Denmark and have no idea yet as to how I am going to sell it

It would be nice to get 150-300€ but there is literally no way. I saw whole bedrooms in that style sold for 150€ so yeah :/

The euro calculator says 150E equals $175 American. Maybe in a posh district of a metropolitan area. Not likely in a small rural town.
Sorry, I can't comment on how to sell in Denmark, as I don't know.

don't rely on such expertise by free experts. furthermore they sit in Paris and - as usual - mention that they worked for banks etc, which sounds posh - everything sounds posh in Paris - but they certainly have no idea about stuff that was coming out of the corner which was closed off till 1989 (GDR).
although you may find these in Brockenstuben, at the Salvation Army etc.., a realistic price would be around 50 € with the sticker. these were old office equipment and this model was often used for pots of ivy.

It would perhaps sell for $100 in a antique shop or high end flea market (high retail) here in the Midwestern U.S. and considerably less at an auction, perhaps $30-50. As said above brown furniture is out of favor these days and pricing largely depends on how far up on the food chain you are as a seller and whom you sell to. Resellers like to double their money.
