Featured Turquoise & Pearl Cross Pendant

Do you think this cross is of any interest?
The metal isn’t hallmarked that I can see but I suspect it’s 800 or less as it does test as silver. The metal work on the back is rather nice but the front is a bit rough and may be a different metal as it has a more yellow appearance. All those little flowers and the cups holding the stones look soldered on.
Definitely real pearls and the turquoise looks ok although WDIK about turquoise! Nice little bail decorated with pearls and a stone.

Oh my good God! The price of that one! We need a fainting emoji.
I know that may be pie in the sky price and theirs has garnets but even so.
It was in a pile of modern scrap jewellery at a car boot sale. I couldn’t even sort through carefully as there were vultures on my shoulder so I just grabbed what I thought looked promising and paid my £1.
Kyra, can you tell me what makes it AH? I can recognise the brooches with the gems but this completely passed me by.

 

I’m going to research the marks when I get back from the school run but I’ll just leave these here in case anyone instantly recognises them

 

Very ornate, pale gilt silver, Renaissance style, ornate back, generally combined turquoises, pearls and garnets

The 2 marks appear to be the same mark stamped in opposite orientations. BTC, with the T taller?

 

I’ll find my better loupe. It has a life all of its own and hides.

 

Believe the quality mark is the 4th standard (.750) lion-head used on small pieces...

This particular AH style is attributed to Siebenburgen/Transylvania. Yes, it will protect you against vampyres.

The turquoises are European, probably from Rumania. On this type of folk jewellery it is not unusual for one or two stones to have been lost and replaced by glass cabs. If they are all turquoise, you're in luck. Fortunately the odd glass cab doesn't influence the value much.
