Mirror - Giants of America Flying Boat

Hi All,

I picked this mirror up at a vintage aircraft and car show in Northamptonshire, England a couple of years ago.

I would like to get a similar type of mirror with aircraft imagery on it, but I don't really know what I am searching for. "Picture Mirror" seems to get a few results, but not a lot, but I know know if this type of mirror is not common?

Also, if anyone know anything about this mirror or the content of the image, I would be grateful to know. There is some text in black just above the plane "Les géants de l'Amérique". This is a direct translation of "Giants of America"

I have searched in the past, but the only one result of the same image was on a matchbox case on a French auction site, which has already been sold, so I do not know anything about it.

You can find many mirrors like this though the subject is mostly beer.

If it's a breakage issue perhaps just state that that will too bad for you...unless packed poorly.

 

Hey KoT, did you mean there are beer co. mirrors with war planes theme? I can find patriotic military themed beer mirrors, but no aircraft.

 

Yeah - they are quite good, although would rather have a non-german WWII and also more vintage (sorry I know I am being picky )

There are several similar on ebay at the moment under "Advertising Mirrors" which were sent to shops for advertising chocolate, tea etc. And as you say several from pubs advertising beer/ale etc.

I don't think my mirror is advertising anything, but would be good to know the age and where it came from and where it may have been used.

Searching of google.fr has come up with the same image on an ashtray on this auction site.
