Chinese signed ginger jar? tea caddy? Need help w/signature

    This feels very new in the hand, could even be some kind of tea caddy or similar purchased last week. Curious what to call this and whether further research is needed. Apologies if I have the signature at the wrong orientation. Thank you for taking a look.

    Any value in something like this or should I just donate? Was just hoping to see something similar but can't find the correct search words. (Also, is the writing definitely Japanese?) Thanks for taking a look! :happy:

    Sorry I can't help with the translation but the jar looks fairly new to me. I would think it's value is decorative.

    It is Chinese, Yixing, and not old. Still a nice piece. I cannot help with the maker.
