I thought this was so cool. At first glance I figured it was an ashtray but the slots are big. Does anyone know what the significance of the pig/hog is and what it has to do with gambling? This is so curious to me

    thank you for your opinions

To be used to rest pipes in, not cigarettes.

    I don't see a pig/hog.

Doesn't have to be gambling. Any card game could be played with a deck of cards.

@wiscbirddog There is an impression of a pig in the center of the bowl His snout is pointing towards the 12 mark in the top pic I wondered about pipes but wasnt sure how two would fit at the same time ty for helping

Cropped and rotated the 'pig', still not sure that is what the critter is. Perhaps a fox? Curious it is.

Ooh!! Another weird one. I admit the close up could look like another animal as well.

Here's another. Most be a thing -- pigs & pipes.

As near as I can tell... Has to do with pipe dreams and the phrase "when pigs fly."

All three pieces here look German to me, and the pig is a good luck symbol (Glücksschwein) there, often represented with a clover in its mouth, usually a 4-leaf...

I like Cheryl's Glücksschwein idea. (And don't some German words just make you want to giggle?)
