Featured lightweighted irridescent skikleding knobbed glass canule holders

Any information you can provide me abouth this glass candle holders is much appreciated.

High: 7,4inch (18,8 cm )
Top:1,6inch (4cm) diametre
Bottom: 2,5 inch (6,4cm) diametre
Weight: 0.12lb (55gr per candle holder)

 

I had these, and somehow they got identified as Mexican.

donno. it's hollow. so, hard to tell

 

I think these are newish and possibly from China .

 

i dont see much aging signs so, you can be right about that. But the quality is very good so i hope its not a modern chinese piece

Rec is in the Netherlands, just like yours truly, and we get a lot of those pretty Egyptian perfume bottles here. So why not candle holders.

 

Egyptian glass is very nice, and they have a very long history of glass making, going back to the ancient Egyptians.

These look like they are in the tradition of Middle Eastern glass. Even though Egypt is in North Africa, there is a strong Middle Eastern cultural influence in the cities.

I have a soft spot for antique Syrian glass, which also has that thin-walled quality and wonderful translucency. I have only one piece myself, a sweet little 12th century Palestinian kohl bottle. Palestine was once part of greater Syria and had a Syrian style culture.
