Measurements, depth? Could it have been part of a ceiling light?

About 14" in diameter, 3" deep. The feet are ground and polished so I guess meant to sit on flat surface.

Maybe French with those brass handles? What are the flowers on the glass pattern so I can narrow down the search?

I think the flowers might be asters but more likely are pompom mums. I don't know of an American manufacturer that produced this type of piece. Might be Verlys but that's just a guess.

Look for a scratched Verlys signature inside or out.

I'm a bit stumped. Is that Duncan & Miller or other Duncan? And what they have to do with Pierre D'avesn design? He worked for Lalique, Daum, Verlys and on his own. Verlys molds were leased to the A.H. Heisey company from 1955 to 1957. Any partnership between Duncan and Heisey at that time? Actually, Duncan was sold to US Glass company in 1955.
Who and when used molded " Duncan Glass" marks?

all I see is that Duncan & Miller made a large tray and bowl in their #128 Chrysanthemum pattern in various colors and finishes. You might check with the folks at the chataboutdg forum to see if someone there knows of a connection with the use of old molds from France...

I spent quite awhile last night trying to find a connection between Pierre D'AVESN and Duncan Glass, too. Also came up empty.

@kardinalisimo - This came up in a completely unrelated search I was doing at the chat about depression glass site today.
