the box has a mirror inside. My grandparents owned an antique store in Clearwater, Florida decades ago. inside is a little piece of paper where she wrote original painting by jean Francos Millet- Painting called The Gleaners. I'm certain they would have had it verified. there is a stamp inside the box that says FALLACI FIRENZE.. Does anyone know anything about this or someone who might??

The Gleaners is a masterpiece of French Social Realism. It's in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. You likely have a little souvenir from Florence with a reproduction of the oil on canvas painting.

Oh, I wasn't aware that he only painted it once. I'll do a little more research.

There's a number of Fallaci boxes floating around the internet. They appear to be of quite good quality. This may be a duplicate of yours.

Thank you - yes, it is 800 silver and it's a little different.. I have about 30 different ones but that was the only one with the artists name.

    Hi Debora,
would you by chance know why they would stamp numbers in some of the boxes/? Like in this small one I have it has the number 17 stamped in it.

What an interesting collection that must be! If you're curious about the other paintings, I'm sure forum members would be happy to help you identify.

Sorry, know nothing about this type of item. But suspect someone else sure to know. Do be kind enough to post a close-up photograph of the stamp.

Yes. A few at a time in one thread. Some OPs photograph similar items on one sheet with numbers beside them. That's helps everyone clearly refer to a specific item.

Start threads in appropriate forums: like china, pottery, metal, art - depending on what you want to ask about.

Lots of photos please & any info that you already know.

Thank you so much.. I've just been pretty overwhelmed. There's just so much and it's so easy for me to run down a rabbit hole..
