Help identify age buffet/sideboard

Hi all, my husband received this piece from his grandmother. We are interested in knowing any information. Has the stamp on back but I couldn't make out a date. Also, best way to get rid of musty smell so it can be brought in the house?

Debora, thank you. That is a very interesting and informative article. I came across this and another write up about his son who took over the business. Still trying to figure out approximate date of manufacture, just out of curiosity. We plan on keeping it and using it in our home.
