    Not really. Looks like an African souvenir to me.

    Maybe. It appears to be made from a single piece of wood is very heavy. Probably would exceed the 50lb limit in the suitcase.

    Could have been an import item.
    I am sure 2many can tell us more. I am not a Sub-Saharan African carvings person, she knows much more about it.

    Certainly not a traditional form from anywhere that I recognize. It almost looks like he was inspired by a cartoon genie.
