thought these were door knockers when i bought them (50p each)

    looks like brass underneath

the C & A company seem to go way back, but unsure if they are more modern reproductions or not as the company still exists

would they be door handles ?

    any thought appreciated

Yes, they look like drawer pulls. Nice.:)
Not an Art Nouveau design though, but they could be of the same period.

The look like legit, and very handsome drop pulls, chesaroo. Maybe a transition period between Nouveau and Deco. I think the style at the bottom is referenced as, "shell"

Looks like they could have been gilt, too.

Earlier, I think. Those little flowers look late 19th century.

That's what the lady in the shop asked me what I was chuckling about when I saw the c & a

First thing that sprang to mind

nothing art nouveau or even arts and crafts. those shells look rather to allude to St.James's scallops on a heavy Church furniture.

    704253, which puts them between

    1902 690,385
    1903 717,521

i think either one is close enough in the grand scheme of things ;)

    thanks inh

Or an alloy, yes. Make sure you dry them VERY thoroughly, hair dryer, radiator, oven even, then a smear of WD40.
