    I originally posted this in tribal because I thought he was wood. Someone suggested ceramic paper weight?? He has beads inside that shake. One member suggested Shou, God of longevity.. can anyone translate the bottom. I'm trying to take better pics. I hope today's are better.. 9A04E065-E87C-4836-816D-AA169BC1C9FC.jpeg 24124FFC-C03F-4A91-8769-D7D23BCFCE76.jpeg 7F05F6D5-CC4D-41ED-84B9-9E353CF2E215.jpeg

    @Couch Potato Wannabe. Somone had suggested I post better pictures under the ceramics. Let me know if this is a little more clear.. I really appreciate all the info you gave me on him. I'm printing information people give me in each thing I find!!

    I feel as though I'm misreading something, so I decided to use Google Translate to see a breakdown.

    What I think 老髙記 is essentially referring to is the statue itself of the longevity god, though it does not state the god by name.

    堂習講 = Lecture
    老髙記 夂峯造 - Longevity made by Kuo Feng (夂峯)

    Google Translate offers
    = old, aged, outdated, tough
    = high, tall, expensive, lofty, loud, high-priced
    = Remember

    As to why it says Lecture, I've no idea....

    @Couch Potato Wannabe ---Well I am going to treasure him!! Thank you for that translation. I'm not to fond of googles-- "old, aged and outdated" LOL.

    hehe, yes, but it is not speaking of the item itself, it speaks of the character being portrayed. outdated is not really applicable, but it is one possible translation of that character is all google translate means. old / aged would be in reference to the ageless ness of the god itself, Shou, God of Longevity.
