Antique Baseball pants, glove, ball

    Looking to date these pants & glove. The glove and ball may lend some clues. A pair of cleats accompanies them by Lowe & Campbell who were acquired in 1931. Unknown to me if their label continued to be used after that. James W Brine started in the 1860s and operated for many years after that. The glove and ball have no label. The ball I assume is missing it’s casing but technically I suppose it could have been stichless. I assume it had a stitched casing though. Any help appreciated!     Thanks, Sabre. Pretty sure there isn't a resident baseball expert here, but if we're the closest thing to one that you've got, we'll give it a try...

    J Dagger, uniform identification is way outside our wheelhouse, but if you can establish those pants are 19th Century, you've got a good find. Best we can do is refer you to Net54, specifically their Memorabilia section [ https://net54baseball.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 ]. There are several advanced collectors there who are expert on uniforms. The label you've already shown is helpful information. After you sign up at Net54, provide a pic of the backside of the pants as well -- pockets and whatnot are also useful details.

    The ball might be -- it's a bit difficult to tell from the photos -- might be a lemon-peel design, and if it is, that's almost definitely a 19th Century item, which gives it substantial value even in its ruptured state.

    The glove is not a 19th Century item, at our guess, but does look pre-War (WWII, that is). Again, a look at the back of it might help toward an identification -- even without a manufacturer label, the lacing and stitching patterns might be (might be) diagnostic. There are ball experts and glove experts as well at Net54.
