Japan Pottery Bowl

    What is this type of bowl for? And how would I describe the decoration? Is it hand painted, then glazed over? Ideas on when it could have been made? It is almost 6" in diameter by about 3" tall. Thank you!

    Could be wrong but I'd call it a rice bowl - porcelain with blue underglaze decoration. The made in japan stamp looks fairly modern - probably new(ish) - something you might find at World Market or Pier One would be my guess.
