Tagging this along with my previous post about the Rosewood Etagere. I purchased this for $100 along with the etagere. It was from same estate sale. Looks like a serving table of some sort. There is a matching metal and glass try that fits second tier but not featured in picture. Put away for Safe keeping. I am very intrigued by the “four metal ladies” holding up second tier. What style is this and what type of metal? My husband and I are debating this part :)

I am thinking 1890 time frame based on other pieces from estate sale but who knows. The ladies look Grecian or Roman to me. Thoughts? Also any other feedback welcome. 80633B8B-74E8-4D29-9201-A7848FD74F34.jpeg BBECF70F-16C5-41B8-AB91-5C78ECA4B6DD.jpeg E8F7799B-8867-4839-AF79-6B61EEB83F1F.jpeg

Thanks...I am listing one below that looks a lot more like the one I have. Two other local people have said it looks more like 1890-1900 which would’ve been more in line with the time period this collector focused on. I am glad you reference another time period. Can you give me any idea as to what draws you to the 1930-1950 range? I am at a loss on this piece. Check out link to other one.

Also only marking is an old label indicating it was imported from France. It’s very old and more like a sticker with a partial client ID and name listed.

Can you take a photo of the label?

It was only my first impression. As I said I was only guessing. Research might prove me wrong.

Will be interested to see the label later today.

I can't tell if it's just the lighting, or if there is wear on the gilding. I see a lighter color on the close-up. If it is worn, a close-up may give a clue to the type of metal.

    The
Two appraisers came by today. Unfortunately the Label was inconclusive. Just an auction tag from when previous owners bought it during trip to auction. Additionally it was partially torn and weathered from age. All we can see is name Travis and a partial client ID. I’ll post a pic soon. It requires me to get under the table and stability is of paramount importance right now so I have to be extra careful.

However, you’re correct about wear on gilding. The noses and high points have some wear. It’s not just the lighting The original glass and metal tray is not featured but it has a little wear at handles. I noticed that too. I’ll get a closer photo and try to use flash. Standby:happy:

Images per thread comments. Took picture of a leg with flash. You can see she is leaning a bit...because somebody thought this Table was garbage and loaded stuff on it in storage. However she is in pretty good shape otherwise.

Also...the tag. It’s not a very good pic but that’s what I can get. It says “Made in France” on bottom of tag and the name listed for client is Travis. Image on it is of Eiffel Tower.

My guess is that, per Clutteredcloset above, this is a mid-20th century take on an early 19th century Empire-era server. Nice job! Although an original might be worth big $$; this one is well worth keeping if you like the style.

Thanks. Appraiser came by again. Says it’s 1890 time frame and worth a decent chunk of change even in current state. Damage to legs and the repair work needed devalue it so I gotta decide if I invest in repairs and keep it or punt it. Thanks so much everybody! Always appreciate your input.
