It's an old Russian icon with the image of St. Nicholas (patron of children). The text is in old Slavic (which I cannot read). I am not an expert in icons but it looks like XVIII century.

    Hi,
I have a good supply. The gold cope in Brooklyn where I helped with the fire restoration has over 2000 saints embroidered all over the cope. Each is identified with his/her name and a symbol identified with the saint. They are all 1½" wide. The vestment set was woven by an order of cloistered nuns and took two years to complete. Each roundel was embroidered with red silk on the gold background. The inside of the cope is all red silk and quilted. The closure is a large citrine crystal that is 7" wide and 4" high. It is just damn gorgeous and a shame it is only worn one day a year.

By the way Jim. You can usually fix a title though it may be too late now if your 'edit' button is gone. :)
