School desk how old?

I remember these. Do they still make these?

 

God, I hope not!!! Fifties???? Uncomfortable............and nearly impossible to find one for a Lefty!!!!!

 

Looks relatively short, although it's hard to know the height of your chair rail. Could have been for the younger grades.

My elementary school (1950's) had the older style, with the "desk" the full width of the chair and a writing surface that lifted for book/paper storage. Even had a pencil/pen trough along the top and a hole for an ink bottle.

If I remember right, mine also had the full desk. But I think I recall in some classes having the mini desk version too. Where did all the blooming years go?

I think there are still some around today.

 

Yeah things used to be well made and not disposable.

 

I also think post-war, on into the 50s.
