    Hi Doris! Welcome!

    Your picture came through nicely.

You will need to undress the doll so that the entire body can be seen.

She is looking to be antique, in style anyway, but these china heads have been reproduced a lot.

Closeups of the head, front and back, plus hands and feet are needed too.

    The waist is tight,I'm afraid I will rip the dress. 20171016_192101.jpg 20171016_192222.jpg 20171016_192413.jpg 20171016_192904.jpg

Could we please see where the cloth body joins the arms and legs, the body cloth doesn't appear to have the wear and tear of a doll that would be circa 1870's 1880's. The arms and feet appear to me to be more recent also. The head may or not be old, although I can't see any paint wear to the back of her hair, these dolls usually had this wear from being played with and layed down on their backs, her face paint is nice. I'd still like to see were the legs and arms are attached to the body though, Joy.

    It must be a reproduction, I can't find any markings 20171016_200927.jpg 20171016_201044.jpg 20171016_201133.jpg

I believe that the arms, legs, and body are more recent Doris, I'm not sure on the head .. It's very hard to tell without 'hands on'. I think the dress is newer too, not brand new but vintage maybe. Did you pay much for her? if not enjoy her anyway ... Joy.
PS, take her to an antique doll shop and get their opinion of her, it's better when one can actually see it, as Judy said, there are MANY repro dolls on the market to watch out for .. Joy.

I agree with your assessment Joy. The head might be old....the rest is newer.

Looks like wear marks (white marks) on the back of the head which as you said an antique doll would have.

Her face is lovely, and the coloring is very nice, but she needs to be seen in person to know if antique or not.

BTW it is not unusual to find an antique head on a new body because a lot of the bodies disintegrated.
