Pottery Vase With Inserts

    Can't tell what the inserts are but I suspect a cheap and decorative piece?

    It's an interesting and beautiful vase but that picture of it sitting on that granite countertop is making my head spin.

    Looks to me like Vietnamese eggshell lacquerware...

    Thanks. Wouldn't guess they were eggshells. It's pottery with black coating(is that lacquer?)
