Kinda looks like student work. Faces are shadowed by dry point needle and the dark parts have had a treatment applied to the plate to etch it deeply. Looks like a school assignment to me. Especially if matted but not framed.

    Thanks. It’s framed. 531D6904-CE72-4B01-8EAB-A674E717A6F9.jpeg

You might find a signature under the mat.

Actually, there is no mat. The etching plate marks make it looks there is a mat.

Ah. Thank you for clarifying (and obviously time for those ol' bifocals.)

I don't see a great signature match but style works with attribution.

YAY! AM ALWAYS SO GLAD WHEN IT'S A LISTED ARTIST! YAY! :cat:

That being said, it looks less "mature" a work than the two other examples shown. It's an etched print, so there could be more out there, perhaps it is an unnumbered edition?

@kardinalisimo , is it possible the 3 heads were printed from 3 separate etching plates? This notion occurred to me after seeing the single head above MOS posted (thanks, MOS).

I ask because it kind of looks like the other 2 examples which have much more detailed backgrounds - appear to have started with the head parts - then the rest was filled in all around. Even some in the "set" example appear to have been done this way, but not all.

Thanks for all the replies. The prints from the set appear to be smaller in size than mine. I curious if all the threw heads were also printed separately.

Yes, I agree about the smaller sizes in the folio, Kard, but does it appear ON YOUR PRINT (if you haven't sold it yet?) that the 3 heads were printed from 3 separate plates? A plate will cause a separate impression on the paper around it. As I looked at his work, I thought it looked like this?

The kid from the single print is different, and smaller. Thanks for showing me again, I didn't think yours were separate, but some of the others do look separate.

The kid in the middle of yours reminds me of some little old frier with that beanie cap on! The way the artist renders the eyeballs with very little light - is unusual.

If they were printed from 3 separate plates there would be 4 edges from each of the 3 plates, I don't see how it could be done that way.
