Hey guys, I have an early Chinese wig stand, this piece has a Hallmark at the bottom which I cannot identify can anyone help me figure out what year this was from? From my internet searches it looks to me like it could be from the Qing Dynasty but I may be wrong

    Ceramics do not have hallmarks.

It does not appear to have any age from the pictures.

Hello Joe, terry is correct, ceramics do not have hallmarks. Hallmarks are stamped by an assay office on items made of precious metal as legal verification of their fineness.
But you will attract the jewellery and silver crowd with your title.;)

    Your vase is a vase.
What you mean is a Chinese hat stand, but they have holes in the sides to ventilate the inside of the hat, like this one:

The mark is pretty generic. There is no genuine or fake dynastic mark on the vase, and without detailed pictures it is impossible to give any indication of a possible age.

Your photo of the mark is not large enough, but it looks like the Dressel Kister mark. Wait for others as they are known for their half dolls and figurals.

If you can take another photo looking straight down rather than at an angle, it would be more helpful.

Joe it "could" be Gyozan from Kyoto, Japan. The Kakihan family uses a similar mark. Most likely 1910 -1930, a better quality photo would help with information.
