Featured deciphering a painting

    Hi all picked this up today love it old frame and a little damaged on edges but a when it is mounted would hide a lot of it. any ideas on signature the second word is tegallalang I believe which is in bali first word no idea lajic Cajic maybe any thoughts appreciated any ideas on age also chris

    The first word looks like 'Laju' to me... perhaps the name of the artist? It's very pretty :)

    A bit of a wild attempt, but could the second word be Tegallalang, an area of Bali? The carved wooden frame might also provide a clue.

    Chris mentioned the Bali connection. If the piece of panelling on the back is any indication, I'd say this is 1970s or 80s.

    The frame certainly looks Balinese.
    Laju is an Indonesian word, but Balinese is a separate language.
    The Balinese have a first name system where people are named according to their caste, generation and place in the family. So there are probably many people called Laju.

    thanks to all yet again i was thinking of fixing ie cleaning and lacquerring frame apply a mount board and fix the back so painting sits flat as you can see has a few waves should I? or leave as is
