    Hi,
This small 12 x 10 oil on board has a monogram lower left, and the inside of the very ornate frame is marked ______ Thompson. I am assuming it's the artist's name because the middle initial of the monogram is a T. It's painted on English Mill board, so I'm assuming the artist is English, but then again the frame is typically called a Hudson River frame because of the domed arch insert. Can anyone decipher the first name or take a look at the monogram? The landscape has a little dog in the background....don't know if that's a clue to who the artist could be. Thanks!

The think the monogram has a reversed R on the left and an F on the right with the T in the middle.

I started out thinking Robt too, but that first letter looks more like a B than an R.

To me the first name almost looks like Cabot, or Capt.

    Maybe Charles R. Thompson ?

    Hi,
Are you sure it is English? It might be Canadian.

I'm thinking Robt. Thompson from the handwriting. But not certain.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The monogram, to me, supports the idea of it being Robert... looks like a backwards R on the monogram. And we all know how creative artists are! :D
