Marvella Age Request

Discussion in 'Jewelry' started by Mayflowermoonco, Nov 5, 2020.

  1. I make jewelry as a side business its really enjoyable, I recently acquired a enormous amount of lovely costume jewelry a lot of nice really well kept Trifari , monet etc.

I found this Marvella piece which I know is costume, it is broken so Im trying to see if this piece is worth it to fix, I cant seem to find any makers mark information out there that may date this piece, and I cant seem to find a similar one online, the makers mark i see online are much different than this.

So I figured I'd ask for some help

Agree, with dating could be a little earlier, or spot on 1960s.

As the pearls are faux and the clasp is broken I would think value is minimal and would not hesitate to repurpose or repair. Marvella pearl necklaces don't go terribly high even when in perfect shape. ($10-20, if flawless). That said, if you wanted to retain it as a necklace you could easily replace with a different clasp.

Certain types of Trifari jewelry is a different story, but depends what you have.

I Agree with Lucille- Marvella is not a popular high end name and doesn’t sell too high (or well for that matter). I would fix it for myself if I loved it otherwise I would repurpose.

  6. The trifari I had was quite lovely
And went for a good lovely chunk one of my customers purchased a lovely piece for her wedding
This is what I thought as well but not too sure Marvella has not been easy to date and I only seem to find the same pieces that aren’t similar to mine
