Cleaning out a house for friends whose parents died. They gave me some stuff to sell for them. I think these shades date to the late 70s. No ID anywhere on them. What kind of key word should I use? I've never had any of these before.

Stained leaded slag glass hanging fixture shade chandelier vintage -- should get your started. Even the later ones seem to sell.

Should be double boxed. Print fedex label through eBay -- parcel select is now often more expensive than priority and these will go into dimensional surcharge so measure your box and add measurements to your listing.

And this is why I usually deal in smalls. I hate packing stuff up. Especially for other people. Alas. They are family friends so I will do it.

The second one is quite attractive.

If I had a place in my house for it, I'd keep it. I'm trying to convince my son that he likes it.

That second one really is unusually nice! I like the colors and design a lot. You should do OK with it, enough to make it worth the trouble of packing...

Really? I don't know a thing about glass shades. Right now they're just taking up space on my dining room table.

Bev, I've done VERY WELL by putting my extras on CL and no boxing / shipping!

The brain damage saved by that was worth the little bit less I may have taken for them.

The first one does kinda look like something that hung in TGI Fridays, but I like the second one too.I sold some leaded glass lamps on craigs and actually broke even, and I had bought them years ago. I will say that any time Ive seen fixtures like these in shops or thrifts, they are never there when I go back again. Bev,I hope your son decides to like it ! I bet its pretty lit up.

I found out today that the "picker/dumpster diver" who came by while I was taking trash to the dump told a mutual friend she got a Tiffany lamp at the house. I just turned over the one with leaves and found this.

On the inside of the lamp it says "Heart Tiffany, New London, CT" and has a tiny heart soldered next to the metal plate. I'm going to look up the company now. I hadn't even thought about looking for a name.

So here's the story according to Collectors Weekly:
    1. Hi allison, not sure if you where able to see the one post from solver about a trademark being filed in 1982 but was revoked in 1985

Okay...so back in 1981 a friend of mine is selling these beautiful Heart Tiffany lead came stained glass lamp shades out of the back of his van. The way I remember the story...Heart Tiffany was owned by a young couple in New London CT. and they worked out of an old factory. The owners of the company had friends and relatives driving all over New England selling these lamp stands and shades to whoever would buy them. I remember the 18" hanging shades retailed for $425. - $450. (1980 dollars). I'm thinking Heart Tiffany was gone prior to 1985 because I bought 6 or 8 shades and lamps from my buddy really cheap in 1983 when the company couldn't pay his commission. Anyway I still have a few of them (not for sale) There trade mark was a little heart shaped piece of stained glass somewhere leaded into the shade..... great quality stuff.

Well, they're still sitting on my dining room table so I have to make a decision. Go through the hassle of packing something this big and heavy and hope I can sell them with the crazy shipping rules on Ebay or even Bonanza, put them on Craigslist and hope someone close by wants one of these or put them in the attic for my kids to deal with after I croak?

Hello, I have a tiffiny heart shape lamp shade. I just dicided to see if any information out there about this beautiful piece of art. It sounds like who ever is talking doesn't like tiffiny style. Send it my way. This lamp shade is priceless. If you really know the people who made them, give them some respect. Can you make art like that?

Neither of these do much for me in style or execution. The first is typical 70s from Sears and the like. The second one, while more original, utilizes pieces that are all the same shape for the most part. A quality lamp will have pieces that fit more like a jig-saw puzzle. Those wide areas of solder will not be beautiful when lit.
