Giralda Tower in Sevilla. Recent-ish Spanish import made of recycled glass. From Valencia region. Missing its cork.

    Hi,
When the seam goes to the top it is new.

    Thanks Debora.
Gregsglass, I am aware of the dating rules of the seams but how do you know in general if new or or old? Seams all the way to the top of the finish are usually post 1900 but not necessarily recent. I guess you have to look at other signs to narrow down the age.
Also, does it matter if the seams stop at the edge of the top or go thru?
How about when the seams of the finish don't align with the one on the body?
Lastly, what are the three lines on the finish for?

    Hi,
I am old and forget, that people do consider seams. When you called your bottle a cathedral , I was thinking of the cathedral shape usually pickle jars from the 1800s. When bottles were hand made, the tops were blown last and added to the jar. Thus if the seam goes to the top it was made after 1900 and machine done. That is what I get for answering before my coffee awakens me.
