Does it really say BEANOPY ? Who - or what - is that ? Are those letters "GCC" ?
Even with glasses and a magnifier I can't tell.
I would just like to know who went to this much effort for an ashtray, because it's pretty. 20171113_202054.jpg 20171113_202413.jpg 20171113_202451.jpg 20171113_202556.jpg 20171113_202209.jpg

It's Cyrillic. Not sure if Russian or other Slavic language. Think it might be some other. It says, Velportz.
I'll try to look up the word.

Edit: I couldn't find a Russian word like that. Perhaps it's just a company name that is a mix of words or means nothing. "GCC" in Cyrillic would be "GSS" which is probably like our "corporation".

THANK YOU Cariou's House. Cyrillic eh. Even more interesting. I thought it might be German. I used BEANOPY as a search term and got a couple of ads for things and a bunch of random stuff, but the ads didn't have anything to say of any use.

    Hello Tom,
I am not sure but it looks like Macedonian porcelain. They have Cirillic alphabet. Also, they have porcelain brand name ВЕЛПОРЦ. However, I only saw their white/cream vases, never saw kobalt ashtrays.

Oh my - amazing ! That word in your post duplicates what is on the piece, in terms of the non-greco-Roman 4th and 7th letters.I wonder about the "A" or 3rd letter tho. In any case - I am about to leave but I look forward to exploring this new avenue more later !
    Thanks Natasha !

It's not "A", it's a variant of letter "Л". Sometimes it's written like "A" but without that horizontal dash.

Well, I found the bio of some guy who ended up working for Velporc, a porcelain factory in Titov Veles and an appliance maker.
Other than that, I found no blue porcelain for ВЕЛПОРЦ
