I found this an thought it was unusual, but I have no idea what it's for any ideas. It is solid brass and it does move holes go threw both ends almost like a small hose of some sort goes in it an rests is the trough on the inside wheel. Any ideas? I have never seen anything like it from a fire company. An it's so small.

I don't think so only because the hole is so small, it's really strange that the ends are threaded like for pressure, but it's not because it would have to be a small hose that runs through it. That's the crazy part an it would have to be a 1/8 in hose to fit in it.

Here are a couple more pictures they move so that's why it would have to be a smaller hose that goes through them, that's the WAY confusing part. An the fact it's so small.

We had connectors like this in the Navy to link large, fixed, co2 tanks together in areas aboard ship such as paint lockers. I’ll be damned if I can recall hoses employed with them.

HMM I will look into that, I serious doubt they have any value at all it's just one of those things that frustrates me because I don't know what it is. I am currently working on an estate an came across 2 of them in the one of the many tool sheds, an it's just driving me crazy that I can't figure out their purpose.

Yeah, well don't throw anything away. I found out from Spring that one of the things I tossed into the scrap metal pile cleaning out my cousin's house was something rather valuable.

My WAG is related to King’s post, sorta. If you have larger, non portable CO2 tanks, maybe these fittings were to guide a thin gauge hose. And I don’t know if there’s such a thing as a gauge hose! If you wanted to know the tank pressure to do your maintenance checklist and the tank wasn’t readily accessible the little thin hose could connect tank to gauge some distance away. A hose that thin couldn’t pass enuf gas (!) to be useful in firefighting, I wouldn’t think, but it would transmit static gas pressure adequate to work a pressure gauge.

It's been QUITE some time to recall detail but there were banks of 6 full size CO 2 tanks, you know...the 5 foot-ish tall ones, in each of the 2 paint lockers on my first ship. These were activated from outside the locker if necessary though they were also set off by sensors.
This part was likely used to link all six together in the activation mechanism.
