_1330189ps1rs.jpg I thought this was a print from the Maxwell Parrish era when I first saw it. It's an original pastel and signed either E. O. Ward or F.O. I found another landscape for sale on ebay and the seller has it as F. D. Ward. It's very well done and I was surprised that I couldn't find any references to this artist.
Here is the link to the ebay listing. What do you think?

I can see the Maxfield Parrish comparison, and imagine it's from much the same period.

There seem to be quite a lot that have been for sale or have sold, some suggest E.D. some F.D. but most don't have info on the artist though they all seem to have good age.

This listing has some info on the artist.... supposedly.

"Here's a nice sized vintage pastel seascape by listed New England artist E.D. Ward. He was a contemorary of William Chandler and was active in the Cape Ann area. He was also employed by the art publisher Tabor Prang that was based in Boston and active 1900- 1930 or so. The art is in first rate condition and the frame is classic art deco,it has its original wavy glass. I'd date this piece to about 1925 or so.The dimensions are 20x12 framed and 15x7 artwork only. This is a quiet and subtle piece of art from a very rare collectible American artist."

I thought I had tried searching with F.D., apparently, I did not. There are quite a few examples that have sold as Say It Slowly pointed out. Why isn't the name listed on any of the listing sites since there are auction records? Strange.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

And the quote that s_i_s included even said that Ward was a listed artist. I would like to know, listed where? And I'm having a hard time making the middle initial become a D in my mind.
