My gut says from India, but nothing concrete to back that up other than costume? I think it is older than most carvings found due to the hand forged rose head nails, which date early 19th century or earlier in the US (maybe different in other countries). Also seems to have been in use and not carved for the tourist market. Seems to have been polychrome at some point, but only vestiges remain. About 13" tall. Heavy dense wood, about the density of oak. Thoughts?
