Hi all my friend at the japanese shop has a photo album of what I believe to be late 1800s early 1900s predominately geishas. now its around 350 dollars and I know it's hard sight unseen but does anyone have an opinion whether it may be worth buying I reckon there's up to 100 photos in the album. welcome all thoughts. I am tempted. c

What type of photos? Size? Hand tinted? Take a look at ebay completed for geisha photographs and see what's selling. Should give you a rough idea if it's worth it or not.

I know what you mean....but be very careful about calling him your friend....

    he sees you coming....

    you've been buying this & that from him...... 30 bucks...8 bucks....20 bucks...ect....& now he's pulled out a $350 item......?

I would steer clear.....and find a new shop to peruse...

Look , I know you're having a great time......but you mentioned a budget ......and while trinkets are nice momento's.....of a fun trip......you're not concentrating on the one or two good items , that'll win the day !

    & that's just my honest opinion......FWIW....

thanks k appreciate that 300 to 400 dollars on one item is big for me that's why I asked about the book will take a photo today of what the photos look like and post
had my eye on a japanese teapot to which was around 350 dollars to me that's a lot on a teapot given that I don't know how old it is etc to the untrained eye it's hard.
I have only come in to this whole antique collectable thing quite recent so still a lot to learn there's a lot of things that I have seen and would love to buy but very expensive. I hope your watching posts today I will take a picture of the pot to show you get your opinion cheers chris
