All ivory. Victorian era. I added a fourth (the one with tortoise-shell) just this week.

    Lovely, Shangas.
The small one could be a dance card. A chain with a ring would be attached to the bail:

These still have the little pencils.

This one also has the names of the dances, so you know who for which dance, so you don't dance a polka with someone who steps on your toes;):

    All those are lovely..
I have some Ivory ones but Tortoiseshell examples tend to be expensive here.

You can't even buy ivory or tortoise where I am. State laws.... (grumble) but I can admire those from afar.

We're ok if it's pre 1947 but I think that will change in the future :(

I don't think it will, the Tories have been told by many collectors, dealers, and museums that a further ban would be unworkable and would see many works of art be lost to the nation. Personally if I see ivory that's clearly later in online auctions I report it, I don't want elephants harmed, since the invention of plastic nobody needs to use ivory.

I hope you're right because I really don't think a ban will stop the Ivory poachers, it will just drive it underground.

I only buy Ivory that I know to be old and way prior to 1947.

In my view they are all Victorian, 1870-1890

If it is any help, the ivory and tortoiseshell one I posted is dated 1840-50 (from Centraal Museum), the ivory and enamel one ca 1910 (from Tassenmuseum Hendrikje).
Both are Continental European, so strictly speaking not Victorian or Edwardian.;)
