Pair China or Porcelain Figures

    These figures are each about 10 inches High
    The strange thing is they each have a hole in the top where you would think you might put a cork but the bottom is hollow with an irregular shaped large hole and there is a small hole in the back towards to the bottom A1.jpg A2.jpg A3.jpg A4.jpg A5.jpg a6.jpg a7.jpg a8.jpg a9.jpg aa1.jpg
    Does anybody know what they are used for

    After posting this I just realized it is probable a lamp base
