Do you know who or where this was made?

    Hi I wondered if anyone knew anything about this cup and plate? Who made it or where it was made etc.

    Made in England to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII in 1937. (Queen Elizabeth 2nd's father.)

    The mark on the both says Norville Ware? You need Brit member to confirm.

    Edward VII was her grandfather not father. This is for George VI who was her father and Edward VIII who was her uncle - he abdicated.

    So it's not "a set" then? They certainly weren't both crowned at the same time.

    No, not a set, although it's the same year, the one we had three monarchs. Edward VIII was never crowned. George VI Coronation stuff is a bit less common, as they had so little time to make it. Mases were made for Eddie, companies lost a lot of money.

    Tell me about it! I have a box full of a
    Silverplate pattern called “Coronation.” You’d think they’d be even more valuable since he abdicated.
