About 6” tall. The shape leads me to think napkin holder. The bottom is not finished. Does that point it to being nothing too special and newer? Thank you for any help.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I don't know, but if you like it, I'd put a piece of felt on the bottom over that rough looking area, and use the heck out of it for napkins!!! Unless you plan on selling!!:)

It was purchased to sell. It would get broken in a NY minute in this house

What ever it is, it was pressed and tooled into shape. To have been blown it has to have been hollow at one time.

The 'waffled bottom' is a result of the punty used to pick it up subsequent to the the pressing, to tool it into shape. The waffle will pick up the nearly molten glass and release it without leaving a 'scar,' it just leaves its imprint. Buckeye Glass, in Martin's Ferry, Ohio, used it at the end of the 19th Century. Not to say your napkin holder was made by them or that it isn't Chinese. The waffle punty is a normal glass workers' tool.

    Edit, Correct typo.

Oooh, I have a bowl that has a Murano sticker that has the waffle pattern on the bottom. I thought it was odd. Hmm
