Just joined and already loving it!

    I am a long time collector of old things...I started with newspapers from the 18th and 19th centuries and have, literally, hundreds of them. Since I spent 41 years in radio it was only natural that I should also collect old radios. Those led me to the pre-radio days of phonographs including Edison Cylinder and Diamond Disc phonographs and records. I have always been interested in art (especially oil paintings) and have a number of paintings that I love, but that have no real value on the market. Who cares? I don't because I love the paintings. I recently picked up a beautiful Nic Lenz painting (picture included) and it represents the first painting by a listed artist that I have ever purchased. I bought it because I love the colors in it and did not even realize he was from Wisconsin, where I live, and a listed artist! The same person also sold me my first-ever antique needlepoint/petite point tapestry, which I am now working on identifying and, if it's worth it, having it cleaned and restored.
    After searching around the Internet for a place where I might be able to find information on the tapestry and a place to have it properly cleaned and restored I stumbled across this site! I am very pleased to have done so as it appears to give me an outlet for almost all of my collection addictions! DSCN0338.JPG DSCN0345 (4).JPG
