Hi I was bought this bottle and wondered if there was a way to found out how old it was? I know it’s made in Edinburgh but that’s about it. There’s no label on the back but I’m not sure if that’s how it’s always been or if it could be missing anything. I have been googling but can’t seem to find much. I’d appreciate any help or pointing in the right direction. TIA

Hayley, if you do a Google search for "Edinburgh Essence Co." + "Silvermills" and then click on "More" and then "Books," you'll see a lot of references that come up. They all seem to be post-World War II. Your bottle to my eye looks 1950s-1960s-ish.

Hi Debora thank you so much I’ll google those now. I love finding out the history of old items.

Heavens. My ma had the same bottles in our larder. May well be as late as the sixties.

Every time I google I keep seeing letting agencies but thank you for letting me know it’s around 1960’s.
