Vintage Purse Help

Hello everybody! Looking for some info on this purse. It's genuine python with a lock and key. Looks like "jas" stamped on the inside. Can anyone help me?

Thought at first inspired by FENDI Baquette but think from hardware a bit earlier. 1970s. (Which is consistent with logo design.) Wouldn't have been expensive in its time.

That's suprising considering it's real snake skin. I was hoping it would be worth something now.

 

At one time these were all the rage......but to be worth $$$...it has to carry a top brand name...... imo.

does it read ... made in Taiwan...

 

There was a lot of snakeskin, including python, around in the 1970s. As to current value, that depends on the market. The FENDI Baguette was relaunched last year so there well may be interest in handbags of that shape again.

I can only add that it's a really nice use of the skin...and the condition looks great from here...........so a couple of hundred...may not be out of the question....

 

I think that may be a bit ambitious. A look at eBay's Sold listings, would provide good direction as to resale value.
